The trailer for Iron Man has just launched: as with the next Batman and Hulk, the quality of the actors hired--in this case, Downey Jr., Paltrow, Howard, Bridges--will elevate the film. I'm not a comic book junkie, but when you get this many great actors on set, I'll watch any genre. I hope the producers of the next Superman are taking note.
Another trailer launched today: The Love Guru. Sometimes Justin Timberlake uses a sock.

Video Vault: Cold Play's Fix You
Wow, this is the first time I've heard this song; watch the whole video; it definitely doesn't end the way it starts: incredible. I'm starting to wonder if there is a band out there that can compare in terms of passion, energy, and quality. U2 is probably the only one I can think of. Good stuff:

Daily Coop: More Once, Opening Day ST, Fundraising
Time article on the continued phenomenon of Once; tickets at Seattle's Moore Theater go on sale tomorrow.
Sometimes I like to give out daily awards to myself:
Baseball Top News Story: This is going to be a long year for SF Giants baseball fans. We lost the opener to the Cubs 12-6, but at least we're playing ball.
Politics Top News Story: Clinton raises $36 mil; Obama might be at $50 mil. The fundraising during this campaign season is beyond impressive.
Best Podcast I Listened to Today: RealTime with Bill Maher interviewing Tom Brokaw
My Favorite Thought of the Day: waiting for the elevator, I wished we had a big fluffy female cat...for a week; I'm not sure what Brando would do with himself--I am pretty confident he would welcome a sister. Dublin would pee on the rug from excitement.

Just found a National Geographic blog post on Busabout Europe: Independent Flexible Travel; this is how I traveled Europe during the summer of 2001. For anyone wanting structured freedom while backpacking through Western Europe, Busabout loops are the way to go. Email me if you have any questions or need advice.
This could stick.

What are Obama's favorite movies? Interesting.
I'm tired after a long night of live blogging the debate. Can you say President Obama? Get use to it.
You know you've got the neatest of all wives when she will hang out and watch, not only the entire debate with you, but also all the pre-hype and post-analysis :)

Daily Coop: Film Vault Addition, Best Moments, Bourne
A friendly reminder to add You Can Count on Me to your to-see film vault: you're welcome.
I called this months ago: Falling Slowly wins the Oscar: best moment of the night (along with this)!! To sing it this well in front of so many people, in such an insane setting, is just flat-out awesome.

Film Vault: No End in Sight
I just watched No End in Sight on-demand from Netflix: incredible, absolutely incredible. Prediction: Charles Ferguson will win the Oscar tomorrow, beating out Michael Moore. Anyone who has Netflix now, watch it tonight. You won't regret the committed time to such an important film.
Trailer
On a side note: I must say the unlimited online viewing from Netlfix is, once again, game-changing. I was one of Netlfix' first customers; their business models continue to be innovative and impressive; I have very much enjoyed watching the Blockbusterites drown in their eventual pool of bankruptcy. I am already laughing at my future children's confusion over the idea of a brick-and-mortar video store.

Daily Coop: Protection, Fence, Netflix, Travel
There is no excuse--in this day and age, in this country, with our resources--that something like this should happen. Obama needs to be protected. Time also just published this article.
What have I been pushing for since the border debate heated up a few months ago? a virtual fence.
Joined Netflix again. First up this weekend: Gone Baby Gone.
We just finalized our trip to Spain and Paris! Is it May yet? Yes, please. We're scouring the Net to find a place to stay in Paris; suggestions are more than welcome. Great. Be ready to be bombarded with mass amounts of Paris-randomness.

Buzzwords: Green and Eco
For shallow reasons like stereotyping and ignorant associations, I've never really paid much attention to this type of thinking, philosophy, or movement. Sure these issues are real, but are they as important as national defense, health, education? The more I think about it, the more I realize how much I still need to learn. Gore's masterful documentary was a great place to start, but I need to ask more questions; I need to dig deeper. As "Eco" and "Green" (it you take the time to watch, pay attention to Tommy's balance between Eco-friendly and Capitalism: his drive is inspiring) become the new buzzwords, naturally, I grow skeptical. Regardless of where I stand, however, there is no question we are in the mist of a movement--a shift:

Momentum
Tonight, we take our country back. While I don't believe the democratic nominee will be decided tonight, I do believe Obama will grab the momentum needed to win. In May, I wrote about leadership; today I am convinced we now have a candidate who can lead our country through what is proving to be a trying time in our history; we now have a candidate who represents everything that I believe our country needs.
Obama will be the next president of our country and tonight will go down in history as the beginning of his catapult into the White House:
